Three new advisers join Farmer School staff

Three new faces will greet students seeking assistance from the Farmer School Academic Advising office this fall.
Jacob Drees finished his master’s degree in education at the University of Toledo earlier this year before coming to FSB.
“My biggest goal is that I wanted to work with students,” he explained. “My mission is to be able to help students. That’s why I became a higher education major first and foremost.”
“In undergrad, I was a business major, and a lot of the things students are going through are similar to what I went through as a student. So I’m better able to understand them through the experiences that I’ve had,” Drees said.
In Anne Bonanno’s case, she also had some business experience, having worked in the business school at Iowa State while getting her master’s degree.
“I really liked the sense of community there, and I definitely saw that reflected here at the Farmer School, that sense of community,” she said.
“I want to be a support for students and help them find their way and reach their goals,” Bonanno noted. “Working one-on-one with students, getting to know them, and helping them achieve their dreams.”
Fresh out of a master’s program herself, Kanisha Boleware said she was impressed with the Farmer School when she came for her interview.
“I really felt welcome. I felt that everyone was very supportive, and I felt I could really thrive in that type of environment and really contribute,” she said.
“So far, I’ve been really enjoying it. I love Miami. I think the students are great, the staff I’m working with are awesome, and I’m just happy to be here,” Boleware remarked.
